Its important to know if you CAN or CAN NOT cut your motor wires. 99.9% of the time its best to assume that you CAN NOT cut the wires. Winding wires use a microscopic enamel insulation. If you cut the wires and cannot properly prep the wire to remove this chemical coating completely, solder will not stick to the copper, resulting in a failed electrical connection. How to know? If your motor wires exit the can of the motor and are extremely stiff, its most likely that this wire is an extension of the winding and and should NEVER be cut. If the wire is soft and flexible, it could mean that the winding wires terminate inside of the motor and are then connected to a softer wire that could "possibly" be cut. If in doubt, ask the motor manufacturer of the vendor where the motor was purchased. OSE sells many brushless motors, here is a list of motor wires should never be cut.
